Wallan Station Works
Construction is underway to improve safety, access and comfort at Wallan Station.
What to be aware of
From Monday 27 May 2019 until early 2020
We are currently establishing a site compound, installing fencing and relocating services at the station.
There will be 24-hour works on 15-16 June for excavation.
The bus stop will be temporarily relocated within the station car park. Way-finding signage will be in place during this time.
Trucks, light vehicles, workers and machinery will be operating on Station Street and in the rail corridor.
There will be some noise and dust from machinery. Where necessary water carts will be used for dust suppression.
Works will include minor tree and vegetation removal within the rail corridor and car park. We have ensured our design minimises tree and vegetation removal where possible.
We are establishing a site compound, installing fencing and relocating services at the station.
Please take care around work areas and follow all signs.
We will work to minimise disruptions to local residents and station users as much as possible.
There will be temporary changes to pedestrian access to the platforms and the waiting room. The waiting room will remain open at all times.
To upgrade the bus interchange we will need to close sections of the car park. This will happen in stages to minimise disruption to station users. During this time adequate car parking will be available within the station precinct.
Pedestrian, vehicle and cyclist access to the station will remain in place at all times.
Why the works are important
The works will upgrade the station, including new toilets in the waiting room, additional bus bays, new platform shelters, additional bicycle parking and an extension of the city-bound platform.
Thank you for your understanding while we undertake this work.
