Rockbank passengers are reminded that the station will remain out of service and trains will not stop to drop off or pick up passengers until late August.

During a works blitz on the Ballarat line over the past two weeks the station’s old platforms were demolished to make way for two new, longer platforms as part of a major station rebuild.

Part of the station’s new car park is now open, where Rockbank passengers can park to catch shuttle buses between Rockbank Station and Caroline Springs Station to travel to and from Melbourne.

A temporary timetable for shuttles from Rockbank to Caroline Springs is available on the V/Line website. Shuttles services will be available when trains from Melbourne arrive at Caroline Springs to take passengers back to Rockbank.

Taxis will be available as necessary for passengers travelling between Melton and Rockbank.

Rockbank Station will be transformed when it reopens in late August, with new platforms, a car park with 350 spaces, a pedestrian overpass with lifts, ramps and stairs, platform seating and canopies, myki facilities, lighting and CCTV.

Rockbank passengers are asked to allow an extra 15 minutes travel time for their journeys.

Construction on the Ballarat Line Upgrade is now well-advanced and will enable more frequent and reliable services for communities along the line, including Rockbank.

More than one million hours have been worked on the project so far, with crews laying 27.5 kilometres of track, installing more than 42,000 concrete sleepers and 115,000 tonnes of ballast.
