Rockbank locals can get a sneak-peek of their brand-new station this Sunday ahead of its reopening to passengers the following day.
The newly rebuilt Rockbank Station will be celebrated with a community event this Sunday 25 August from 10am to 1pm featuring food, fun and entertainment for the whole family.
Cricket fans can get up close with some of the stars of the Big Bash League, with the Melbourne Renegades running cricket activities, ably supported by the local Aintree Stallions Cricket Club.
There’s plenty to keep the kids busy, including a jumping castle, face painting, roving entertainers, easel painting stations and more.
Attendees can even look forward to a free feed, with the Rotary Club of Melton Valley putting on a sausage sizzle and local coffee van CUPA4U slinging lattes and flat whites.
The community can take a guided tour of the revamped station and see first-hand the work that has gone into its rejuvenation.
The station has been completely rebuilt as part of the half-a-billion dollar Ballarat Line Upgrade, which will enable much-needed extra services on the Ballarat line.
