Stratford locals and surrounding communities are getting involved in the design of the upgrade to Apex Park.
Thank you to the hundreds of locals who attended our community day on Saturday 8 February to take part in co-designing the key elements of the park upgrade, including a new nature-based playground, BMX/pump track and community artwork.
Those who weren’t able to attend the community day can still have their say by completing an online survey by 5pm Tuesday 25 February.
Initial designs for the upgrades will be presented to the community in the coming months for further feedback, before the final designs are unveiled at a community day later this year.
The upgrade will be built within Apex Park following completion of the new Avon River rail bridge, which is being delivered as part of the half-a-billion dollar Gippsland Line Upgrade.
The new Avon River rail bridge will boost reliability of services and allow trains to travel at up to 90km/h in this section, a massive improvement on the 10km/h speed limit in place on the existing bridge.
The bridge and improvements to Apex Park are targeted for completion in early 2021.
