Have your say on Stratford park improvements

Posted: 13 May 2020

The Stratford community is helping co-design improvements to Apex Park as part of our project to build a new rail bridge over the Avon River.

Locals voted for what they’d like included in the new nature-based playground and BMX/pump track being delivered as part of our project to build a new rail bridge over the Avon River.

We’ve created a concept design based on those votes, and now we want to know what locals think about it.

By getting further feedback, we can ensure the final design is truly reflective of what the Stratford community wants to see built in Apex Park.

Locals can have their say on the Apex Park concept design or by calling 1800 105 105 by Sunday 24 May.

We’ll use the feedback to finalise our design for Apex Park, which will be presented to the community in the coming months.

Construction is continuing on the new rail bridge over the Avon River, with crews working under modified conditions and strict protocols  in place to protect the safety of construction workers and the community.

Trains will be able to travel at up to 90km/h on the new bridge, an improvement on the 10km/h speed limit on the existing bridge.

The new Avon River rail bridge and improvements to Apex Park are targeted for completion in early 2021.
