Passengers on the Geelong, Warrnambool, Shepparton and Gippsland lines are asked to plan ahead this Autumn while works continue on Regional Rail Revival projects across the state.
Coaches will replace trains on sections of the Geelong and Warrnambool lines from Saturday 10 April until Sunday 18 April for work on the Waurn Ponds Station upgrade and Warrnambool Line Upgrade.
At Waurn Ponds, work will continue on the new platform, duplicated track and accessible overpass to allow more services to be extended to and from Waurn Ponds.
On the Warrnambool Line, signalling upgrades will continue and construction will progress on the new track for the Boorcan crossing loop, to make it easier for trains to pass each other, boosting reliability by helping services recover from unexpected delays more quickly.
Works on Stage 2 of the Shepparton Line Upgrade will take place from Tuesday 6 April for 11 days while trains aren’t running due to level crossing removal works.
Early works for the Gippsland Line Upgrade will take place from Thursday 20 May to Monday 31 May during V/Line’s scheduled maintenance works.
Passengers are reminded of disruptions for V/Line’s annual maintenance works, on the Geelong and Warrnambool lines for 10 days from 26 February, the Ballarat Line from 27 April to 7 May and the Bairnsdale Line in late May.
