Crews braved freezing conditions last Friday to lift in Wendouree Station’s new overpass - the last of five overpasses to be installed as part of the Ballarat Line Upgrade.
The overpass was lifted into place overnight in an effort to minimise disruption to train services, and will link the station’s existing platform with its second one – currently being built.
Construction on the station upgrade is progressing well, with work now beginning on stairs, ramps and lifts for the overpass.
The upgraded Wendouree Station will feature improved security and lighting and a new platform and rail track to allow trains to pass each other.
