Back to Newsfeed

Rockbank Station will be reopening to passengers on Monday 26 August.

The new-look station includes two new longer platforms, a new pedestrian overpass with lifts, ramps and stairs, a 350-space car park, platform seating and canopies, secure bike storage, myki facilities, lighting and CCTV.

The Rockbank community is invited to get a sneak peek of their rebuilt station and celebrate with a community open day on Sunday 25 August from 10am to 1pm. The day will be jam-packed with entertainment, activities and giveaways.

There will be cricket activities with the Melbourne Renegades and the Aintree Stallions Cricket Club, a jumping castle, face-painters, roving entertainers, easel painting stations and more. Food and drink will be provided with a coffee van and a free BBQ served up by the Rotary Club of Melton Valley.

Rockbank will be the first station upgrade to be completed as part of the Ballarat Line Upgrade.

There will be more periods when coaches replace trains before construction on the project is complete at the end of the year and an intense commissioning phase begins. We’ll let passengers know well in advance when this schedule is confirmed.
