New station and services for Melbourne’s west

Ballarat line passengers will benefit from a brand new station and extra train services in a matter of weeks.

From Monday 2 December Victoria’s newest train station – Cobblebank Station – will open to passengers in this growing community.

The modern and accessible station will feature lifts, ramps, lighting and CCTV as well as a car park with drop-off zones and secure bike storage for passengers.

Along with the station opening there will be a new timetable for Ballarat Line passengers, including two extra peak services each weekday, as well as new bus services for Melbourne’s booming outer west.

Melton, Rockbank, Caroline Springs and Deer Park passengers will have one new morning peak and one new afternoon peak service, made possible thanks to the 18km track duplication between Deer Park west and Melton.

The new bus services will run between Melton and Cobblebank Station, and between the newly rebuilt Rockbank Station and nearby Aintree.

The opening of Cobblebank Station and the 18km track duplication is a key milestone for the Ballarat Line Upgrade, with major construction on the project to be completed by the end of the year.

Passengers can download a copy of their new timetable at ptv.vic.gov.au in early November.
