Wallan Station is being upgraded to cater for the community’s growing population and to improve safety, access and comfort.
Stage 1 of the Wallan car park upgrade will soon be complete.
Buses will begin using the new bus interchange and the northern section of the car park will be reopened to station users.
Stage 2 of the upgrade includes the reconfiguration of the middle section of the car park. The following work will take place:
- Re-laying of asphalt
- Reinstating street access
- Painting of car parking spaces.
These works will see all car parking spaces reinstated at Wallan Station and reopened for use. Stage 2 of the car park upgrade will be complete early 2020.
What to be aware of
The new entry at the northern end of the station is a bus-only lane. Cars can access the station using the existing driveways.
Work will continue in the middle section of the car park to reinstate the station’s car parking spaces.
For your safety, please take care around work areas and follow any signage in place.
Once the new bus interchange is in use, buses will arrive and depart from the new bus bays.
Passengers will have the option of parking in the northern or southern sections of the station car park.
Once Stage 1 of the car park upgrade is complete, vehicle entry will be via three points located off Station Street as per the map above.
All car park entry points will be maintained during Stage 2 construction works.
Buses will access the station via a dedicated entry.
Pedestrian and cyclist access to the station will remain in place.
There will be some noise from the works. Where possible, we will minimise disruption to residents and businesses in the following ways:
- Scheduling noisy works during normal working hours where possible
- Using noise-reduced equipment.
We will notify residents and businesses if there are any significant changes to the works.
