Waurn Ponds Station upgrade plans released
Posted: 15 Mar 2019
Concept plans for the Waurn Ponds Station upgrade have been revealed, showing a second platform, extra track and more than 90 new car parking spaces.
The new platform and extra track will create enough space for trains to pass each other, allowing more Geelong services to be extended to and from Waurn Ponds and helping to improve service reliability.
The project, part of the $160 million Geelong Line Upgrade, also includes formalising existing unsealed parking spaces, a new accessible pedestrian overpass between platforms, secure bike storage, myki machines, lighting and CCTV.
We’re asking Waurn Ponds passengers and the wider community to provide feedback on the station upgrade, which will inform the final designs, via an online survey.
You can also talk to the project team in person:
- Monday 25 March, 6.30am to 10am at Waurn Ponds Station
- Thursday 28 March, 4.30pm to 8pm at Waurn Ponds Station
- Saturday 30 March, 10am to 2pm at Waurn Ponds Shopping Centre

The Victorian Government previously consulted passengers and the community to develop a business case for the future track duplication between South Geelong and Waurn Ponds. This feedback has been incorporated into the concept design for Waurn Ponds Station.
